Cry Me A River

Cry me a fair-tale

A fable that’s true

If I place steel pails

Under your sails

Could you please

Rain on our arid ship

Fill all the buckets

And douse the fires

Cry me a storm

And fill our fragile souls

With watery glee

Cry me a river

And fill our hearts

With liquid joy

G’day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I’m an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I’ve been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I’ve been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. Oh, i hope and pray that rain will come pouring soon there…and i hope and pray still that the wind wont be so harsh so as bush fire will stop as it is where it is now..🙇🙇🙇

Your poem is so beautiful and a sad longing.

    • Thank you Mich, for appreciating our situation. And a good dose of rain is our real fix… The fire fighters can only protect houses, the fires are huge and fierce in these bad/hot conditions…. 😔💙🌏🔥💙🌏😢
