G’day dear followers and readers, welcome to Promote Yourself Monday, and despite my ongoing tiredness and business of all the things that go with promoting my new book “Tullawalla”, I managed to write a poem this morning,

thanks for the opportunity t share. Here is one in a form I like as it seems to bring out the absurdity of much f reality while shining a light through (although I would prefer if wp would set them as I do – the second part as a column with some distance to the first – but they don’t, so here goes
PS I changed the title, but again wp did not

It’s not too late to begin participating in #OctPoWriMo. Just one poem a day! Let’s keep this tradition going. https://bilocalalia.wordpress.com/2022/10/02/octpowrimo/

I started writing a ‘poem’ every day years ago, and I am happy that the habit has been maintained…

Thank you, Go Dog Go Cafe! I’d like to share a recent blog post about caregiving and poetry reading of “The Caregiver’s Craft” from my soon-to-be released debut poetry book, Three Penny Memories: A Poetic Memoir, which is about my mother and me. Check out some other recent posts with readings as well as -3 days ago- an invitation to my virtual launch Q&A/ Reading in October 15, the day my book drops on Amazon. Here is the post on caregiving. Thank you for reading it! https://extraordinarysunshineweaver.blog/2022/09/29/poetry-reading-3-three-penny-memories-the-caregivers-craft/

Your poem resonates with me on every line … yes “ the caregivers craft” is a myriad of tangled stories .. the “Calm and the Chaos” are a mixture of those good days and terrible days. 🤗😊

A perfect dream come true Nancy … hmmm … once upon a time I was living a dream … but like all perfect dreams, the reality of life jolts you awake … 😉💔
“Spiraling”
I look
upwards
there
on spiraling
warm air
a white petal
fluttering
like a dove
between
here and there
hovering
on a cloud of love
there
waving
from above
my angel
forever
faithful
I wave
“oh, my love,
aren’t you tired yet?”

Yes, Ivor. In the blink of an eye or after many precious years that perfect dream can end. Your poem depicts that beautifully.
