Stillness Between Stones- Michael Erickson

i hunger for stillness between stones

to step away from current worries and be

while Mother Nature washes my skin clean

coat my aching muscles in crystalline rock

twine searching roots round my arms

and share with this mortal ancient wisdom

as the cosmos spins beyond these glowing hoodoos

spread raven wing and hear eagle cry

all between this sun warmed place

i have stepped beyond current worries

and am fulfilled in the stillness between stones
