Devereaux Frazier and Beth Amanda are currently hosting the Tuesday Writing Prompt Challenge which was started by our star writer Christine Ray. We hope to offer all of you something that will spark your creativity and willingness to participate.
The prompts are designed to be quick challenges that can be written in 10 to 15 minutes, inspire you creatively, are fun, and get everyone interacting. Please post your response to the prompt in the comments below and show your fellow posters some love and support. All members of the Go Dog Go community, including Baristas, are welcome to participate. Feel free to share this post on your own blogs and/or Facebook.
Todays prompt: “waterfall wishes”
Thanks for the lovely prompt!
Wishing And Hoping
The pool was clear and deep
underneath the waterfall.
The children peered over the age
to see the coins glistening on the bottom.
They wondered what wishes had been made
and if any had come true
but no one could know.
No one would tell
them their wish
as they waited their turn
to watch the coin
fall into the cascade
down into the wild white spume
and then into the clear pool below
where it would stay glistening for ever
feeling only the force of water.
All those secret wishes
revealing nothing
lying there
hoping.

happy Tuesday friends thanks for the opportunity xo
“Waterfalls in John Wayne Movies”
in the city
there are no waterfalls
just runny slimy drips
on rusted pipes
amid the feet of children
who dance
some of us conjuring wishes
between bus lines and electric poles
there was poetry in hips of maids
testosterone sonnets from metal lunchboxes
in the city pigeon shit awning
ten jewelry stores each selling
radios from Lebanon
waterfalls in John Wayne movies
fifth grade wishes Wonder Woman
jacket and a pink Barbie brush set

Hi, I am returning to Go Dog Go – having been away for quite some time. Good to be back. Below is prompt response. Thanks,
Waterfall Wishes
If finding a manageable route
standing nearby without doubt.
If might a speculate shower
whereby he inside might cower,
step into the stream
feel its powerful dream
the thought of all of our wishes
where nearby one man’s misses
for resolve
to solve
all of his climbing desire
rather than soak in the mire
of our spiritual reckoning
this is my solo beckoning.
I would wish to find some release
from a current, inside poised peace.
