Hello Lucy, this is an outstanding poem, and your poetic 2nd stanza is simply stunning …
“It was the ghost
that fluttered in my heart
wanting to die. Muse, muse,
my ailments, my garden bloodletter
I lived to see it gone
and another depression
in the rose bush was born,”

I’m sick of counting Bo-peeps ewe’s

Interesting I was reading some researcher the other day saying counting sheep doesn’t help in going to sleep. I didn’t read it cos it works for me. Despite having to count to a 1000. Maybe I should try easier methods. Counting on one’s fingers does get a bit tiring…….
