Throwback Friday- Rain by Liyona

the sweet summer rain

warming my soul

and slowly cascading

down my back

kisses so soft

touches so tender

that I can only imagine

what a lover’s embrace

must feel like

As I dance into the night

As I run into the darkness

with only the moonlight

at my back

I realize that summer

truly is for

As spring round the corner, I can’t wait for warm rain! Last year, I was blessed with an early spring and this poem is a direct result of that. I am really looking forward to getting stuck in and gardening! photo by Gabriele Diwald on Unsplash

Liyona is an “average joe” kind of writer who likes to think about ordinary things and then write them down. Ever since she can remember, she has been rhyming words and creating lyric poems. During her college years, she took a more serious bent toward writing and started to post on her blog (The Life and Times of a Quirky Character.) Currently, she resides on the East Coast of the United States just north of the country’s capital.

  1. That’s nice.
Reminded me of when it rains in Florida, being out in the warm rain is rather nice, cooling and refreshing. But in the UK, no matter how warm it is, could be mid summer, the rain is still always cold.
