Willow Tree by Liyona

I am a fading king

Waking up to morning dew

That crowns my branches

A willow

Dare I move in the afternoon breeze?

I am a foundation stone

Fathering all good moments

For critters that crowd

around me

Dare I sing the morning song?

I am a flightless prince

Keeping all the misery

Of the earth in

my heart

Dare I recognize all that has been done?

I am a wooden lighthouse

Reading more than you can image

By day and by night

My silence

Dare I sway to the evening mist?

This poem is directly inspired by the Tuesday Writing Prompt Challenge found here at Go Dog Go Cafe. The prompt this time was “willow, misery, silence”. I am working through older prompts to help spark my imagination. Tune in tomorrow to see the new challenge for this week! Photo by jurien huggins on Unsplash.
