Devereaux Frazier and Beth Amanda are currently hosting the Tuesday Writing Prompt Challenge which was started by our star writer Christine Ray. We hope to offer all of you something that will spark your creativity and willingness to participate.
The prompts are designed to be quick challenges that can be written in 10 to 15minutes, inspire you creatively, are fun, and get everyone interacting. Please post your response to the prompt in the comments below and show your fellow posters some love and support. All members of the Go Dog Go community, including Baristas, are welcome to participate. Feel free to share this post on your own blogs and/or Facebook.
Today’s prompt: Write a piece of prose or poetry around the idea of choice. With so much decided for us in society, do we really get to “choose?”
Happy Writing!

Here are my thoughts..
Memories
If I could choose my memories
I would keep the ones
that make me smile
still
keep them safe,
so I can revisit them
and throw away the rest
watch them blow away
in the wind.
But I can’t.
They’re self selecting
they chose
themselves
and I wonder
what choices will be left
for me
to the end of my days.

I also wish we could choose, but then it seems by mins likes to catalog the seemingly simple information! Love that question at the end.

They Tell Us What To Choose
We congratulate ourselves
for voting, but does it count?
That selection is decided
by the Electoral College.
They have the power
to discount the popular vote.
Do you think every American
has the chance to grow up
and be President. You have
to have money, and, more
times than not, you have
to be white.
