My guide dog Trigger very sadly had to be put to sleep on Tuesday 1 September. And I have written this poem in honour of my dear old friend, https://kmorrispoet.com/2020/09/05/dog-bed-revised-poem/. Thank you for the opportunity to share my poem. Kevin

Thank you so much for your comment Eugenia. You are absolutely right, pets/guide dogs are like family. It often hurts just as much to lose a much loved animal as it does to lose a family member or friend. Best wishes. Kevin

Hello all. How are you?
Here is my piece for PYM: https://lucysworks.com/2020/06/23/a-dream-that-wasnt-mine/
Months later, it’s still a draft. I’m growing to like it again, so it might not be as incomplete as I once thought it was.
Well. Anyway. I hope you enjoy it. ❤️

This is quite a dramatic and dark dream, and I’m glad ‘the dream wasn’t mine’…because I’m confused and struggling to form clear thoughts …over these last few days,,,i think a cabin fever is melting me down ….although I adored this stanza, with it’s green-eyed monster, a blue tree, being swallowed by the oceans arms…. all evoking a turbulent dream….
” If ever I were to meet
the dream in sea-green eyes
limb by limb
it was the blue tree,
the memorial,
swallowed by the oceans,
anchoring arms of the tree”

The dream wasn’t mine either, fortunately. 😃 I’m glad you could enjoy this poem, though. I hope all is well.

Perhaps, not your dream, Lucy, however, many have dark and haunting dreams. I often wonder where they come from?
“there’s a snore in the branches
while moving them, untamed, like the macula
into the blue womb of the sea,”
Truly, a fascinating piece.

Greetings from Australia. I’m a newcomer to WP and Go Dog. Still finding my way through the haze…. On ‘Flippant Comic, and Serious’ I usually work
in humour rhyme, often with an underling serious message. Nonsense verse also appeals
