Sometimes I walk along these shores,
And dream of hearing dragon song.
The world seems so dark and forsaken,
In the harsh reality of daylight.
I long to find a forgotten hole,
Into which I could fall into another world.
If only this world could stretch and bend,
To accommodate the far reaches of my imagination.
Oh what wonders would be ours,
As we rub shoulders with fantastical beasts.
Yet here I stand upon the edge of a small pond,
With the same mountains I’ve seen since my youth.
Bare these strange thoughts must I,
And walk paths of normalcy.
While this mind scatters a vivid dream of unending dimensions,
Hoping to capture some essence of wonder with these imperfect words.
