Balance, by Ivor Steven

This morning, like most of my starts to a new day, I open up my WordPress reader, and proceed to read Derrick Knights wonderful WP site    [https://derrickjknight.com/2020/07/14/keeping-its-balance/ ]     … This morning the above enchanting photo of his, immediately captured my imagination (of how the young foal was balancing upon the ground)… and inspired my thoughts to write this poem….   A big thank you to Derrick and his fabulous photographic site, and they continue to be my enjoyable breakfast read, and a perfect way to start my day

Balance

There is a distant shore

Between why and when

Life is a seesaw

Between hero’s and heroine’s

There is a balance

Between ups and downs

Life is a challenge

Between smiles and frowns

There is common ground

Between storms and calmness

Life is a humming sound

Between love and blindness

G’day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I’m an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I’ve been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I’ve been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.
