Summer Days- Michael Erickson

Days stretch long far into the night,

As heat rakes it’s teeth along the ground.

Let me hide my naked body,

Beneath cool leaves of a fig tree.

As foraging life crawls by I watch,

Thinking of the crackling earth wavering beyond this castle of shadows.

Beyond these walls roaring lions rage,

Baking all living things.

Michael is a husband, father, writer, poet, and aspiring author. He finds time to scribble down his thoughts in the dead of night, between ghosts and night owls. If you’d like to read more of his poetry follow the link here. Or to visit his full blog, ‘The Ink Owl’ click here.
