And jack boot rain bore down in brutal disgrace
And the people cried out in anguish for justice, for release
And the demons of grief filled the once empty streets
As frustration stormed and raged in the face of bitter hate
It’s been a long time comin’ Lord, and there is no end in sight
For we are in our darkest hours fighting this desperate fight
Without a strong leader to guide us to the healing light
Only love for one another will save us from our doomed plight

Beautiful tribute for our time! I like the poem very much and also the video. Both speak of hope of change – and I hope “it’s gon’ come.”
