Thank you. I am indeed looking forward to enjoying a few beers with friends once more in the pub. However I very much regret what will, I fear be a deminished pub scene, with a lack of diversity in provision in pubs and in society more generally.

This made me really sad. But unfortunately what you wrote is all true. The situation is mostly similar around the world. I hope we get through this together; becoming more united and compassionate as a race.

Thanks … there is a view among some people we, and in particular the press, shouldn’t question the government’s approach but it’s becoming clear the hospitals coped by discharging older people into homes without testing them for the virus. Care Homes have not had access to PPE and there has been reluctance to use ICU beds for older patients.
LikeLiked by 1 person
I believe, that rapid testing and isolation is the only way to stop this. But, it’s also a fact that there’s a worldwide shortage of test kits. All we can do is wait, really.

If anything is making me angry it is this. Dumping human beings into care homes ill-equipped to deliver safe palliative care is just cruel and insane. Carers are not qualified nurses, and with no PPE, training, or access to tests, they are at risk, their families are at risk. Insane, no it’s criminal.

LikeLiked by 1 person
That is a really tough question, Ivor. Though love here is not unrequited. The ethical heaviness and associated guilt, kinda makes this love half full and half empty at the same time. I hope, I’m making some sense and this satisfies your question.

Our Garden Seat
Beyond where anyone can see
Past the rain and pain
I’m bathing in the Milky-way
On the edge of the black sea
Away from yesterday’s heat
Under Eden’s golden tree
There’s a comfy garden seat
A resting place, for you and me
