Here’s a poem I wrote 2 years ago, and it’s a jumbled verse of my thoughts, and comments that I write in some of my fellow bloggers comment boxes, about their article that I had recently read….. and then I toss these anecdotes & lines together to form an intriguing/messy piece of writing….. Anyhow when I reread this older poem, I thought some of my lines could pertain to our present dilemma today….
Beyond Today There Is Tomorrow
Beyond the broken porthole
I stand on a basin pedestal
I’m going down with the ship
She left the wreck last week
Left my bones in the bathroom
Drowning in a blue lagoon
**********
Last night there was a fire down the street
On the other side of the creek
I heard the commotion in my sleep
The old farmhouse was burnt to the ground
And lingering smoke on the water whispered sounds
Of living memories lost, and a loyal dachshund
***********
The Alien poet’s brain
Is a fascinating place
Having a distant surreal view
Hooked, like a fish on a line
Laying tomorrows foundations
On old pieces of blotting paper
Using the dried ink as mortar
Between the sea and sky’s next brick
Remembering yesterday’s sunshine
Is today’s dawn, and beyond

Thank you Lucy for your vote of confidence……. It’s a piece with lots of different thoughts, and I just tried to make sense of them and join my lines together…. and yes, you are probably right, as light back on my piece, … I made a few bold statements…..😀😎
