Go away from me,
Beyond the hills of yonder mind.
You have lost your way before my eyes,
And I can see much you still will yet learn.
Impetuous as youth you beg for an easier road,
Old am I as one who has walked many paths.
Go away from me,
Into the unknown where change relentlessly happens.
Fall down upon the ground,
Be humbled before the grandeur of this world.
Look to the stars to remember your beating heart,
Bath your naked skin within the coolness of the earth’s tears.
Go away from me,
And learn about the universe around you.
Know the dust from which life rises,
Seek to be imperfect and love.
Lick up the wounds of the past,
And understand the knowledge that will change your tomorrow.
Go away from me,
And walk your own road.

Your poem reminds me (well, the opening line, anyway) of some words written by a friend for a song of long long ago. I don’t remember it exactly but it was something like this …
Every time I see you face I smile
It brings back the memories
They’re driving me wild
You appear before my eyes in dreams
Or maybe in scene I see
That goes until I scream
Go away
Nothing really happened anyway.
