The moon said to the sun,
“Why my love, do you leave me each and every night?”
The sun said to the moon,
“Why do you run from me each and every the day?”
The moon said to the sun,
“For you are too bright, my love.”
The sun said to the moon,
“For the night frightens me.”
The moon said,
“I will protect you during the night, my love.”
The sun said,
“I will keep you warm during the day.”
The moon said,
“Then when shall we meet?”
The sun said,
“Only as you eclipse me through the sky”
.
He shredded her dreams in a dignified air of victory. For how long would she have to wait for the next eclipse?
This poem is directly inspired by the Tuesday Writing Prompt Challenge found here at the Go Dog Go Cafe. I am working through older prompts to help spark my imagination. Be sure to check out the challenge every Tuesday! Photo by KARTIK GADA on Unsplash.
