flippity flap this and that
allow selfies a pat on the back
no backtalk no ceilings in life
walk the walk and end all strife
reset pecks the woodpecker pecks
connect the dots for onward treks
learning to do nothing
does that mean it’s something
to blindly walk in the morrow
may bring unwanted sorrow
not to worry who’s in charge
our own journey still at large

A gander at me –
I enjoyed a dedicated career in the insurance industry for over 20 years being rewarded both professionally and personally. Now it’s time for me to follow my dreams by doing things I enjoy…spending time with family, learning, sharing, traveling, writing poetry and encouraging others to pursue their goals.

A throwback to my Tuesday Chatter series, since retired.
Learning to do nothing is hard work and is definitely something. Occupying leisure time trying to unlearn a lifetime of hurry it tough. It is most difficult to unlearn to eat a sandwich in less than 10 minutes. After years of lunch time scramble, I feel overwhelming guilt when I linger over lunch and eat slowly. Though I now feel full after a half a sandwich…

Thank you Sadje! I wrote this in 2017 – funny how it is applicable today.

“…learning to do nothing…” excellent from start to finish. What an odd country we all find ourselves inhabiting out of the blue!

You are most welcome. These times are utterly unprecedented. Nothing like this has ever occurred before in our history.
