I was inspired and challenged to include the idea of “dangerous thoughts” from this week’s challenge at the cafe and also celebrate National Haiku Writing Month (NaHaiWriMo). To be honest, I am always nervous when I create a haiku because I am terrified that I have counted the syllables wrong! (I think this one works though) Also, I know haikus are normally nature inspired but today’s inspiration is more abstract. Photo by Manmohan PM on Unsplash.

Liyona is an “average joe” kind of writer who likes to think about ordinary things and then write them down. Ever since she can remember, she has been rhyming words and creating lyric poems. During her college years, she took a more serious bent toward writing and started to post on her blog (The Life and Times of a Quirky Character.) Currently, she resides on the East Coast of the United States just north of the country’s capital.
Success indeed… both on your counting and your writing… bravo!

If you see me mouthing numbers and counting on my fingers, I’m writing syllabic poetry 😂

Good one – you are much braver than me! – I avoid anything that requires a syllable count – I put it down to my English West Country accent!
