Thank you for sharing this inspirational story, just the kind of stories we like to read here at the Go Dog Go Cafe. I look forward to wearing a Bransfield Tartan scarf around my neck some winter up here in the North!

Excellent poem, nostalgic and connected to a feeling I believe all writers can share about the songs that we once heard that are now lost. Yet we do hear new ones again, we do capture some of them, and we are grateful for every song we hear, we catch, we share. I am grateful for your sharing this with us today.
Thank you

What have I noticed from being around writers/editors at a conference?

Robin,
Thanks for stopping by the GDG today and sharing this reflection. What do we gain and what do we lose through interactions with others, by telling our story to a stranger instead of typing it in and sharing it here or there on the internet or elsewhere? Perhaps we could pause in the cafe today to stop over at another’s table and ask to hear the words of their story – this is the very spirit that inspired our journey to Go Dog Go a few years ago. Thank you for stopping by and sharing.

Editing is such a lonely and solitary activity, isn’t it? The older I get, the more I crave connection. I love the internet and it has saved my life but I miss getting to know new people face-to-face.
LikeLiked by 2 people
It does feel quite solitary sometimes.
All my friends that I see face-to-face are not writers or editors. So, I’ve only really connected with other writers or editors over the Internet.

Paul,
This is simply fantastic in every way. First of all, perhaps we need to add a semi-periodic post at the Go Dog Go where we ask our patrons about their favorite poets and why… their “Dead Poet’s Society” if you will. Perhaps we can use this idea as a prompt here, what say you, my friend?
Thanks for stopping by the Cafe today and sharing this little dose of brilliance and opening up our world to not just a great Serbian/American poet but a great NEW HAMPSHIRE poet, Charles Simic!

Thank you so much for allowing me to share and your kind words. I definitely was amiss not to mention Charles Simic is a great New Hampshire poet. Haha, sometime I think New England has an unfair monopoly on fantastic poets….

I really appreciate the way you make time for the things that are important to you, even if it is just five minutes of meditation. I also think that setting 3 most important priorities for the day is really smart both in chipping away at what needs to get done while keeping it attainable.

Welcome to 2020, let’s make it a good one.
The piece I am sharing today reflects on transformation in nature and ourselves as we pass through a “winter” period of our lives. A first draft, I will be looking at this more closely in the upcoming weeks.
Thanks for sharing and thanks for visiting the GoDogGo Cafe today and come back tomorrow!
