Where came we upon this broken road?
Stumbling along lead by a forgotten tune was I.
Running scared were you leaving the rest behind.
Our hands were bare yet covered in blood,
And we both knew the hunger in one another’s eyes.
That hunger drove us to feast,
Between cracking bones and howling lungs we were bonded.
Upon our chests, a badge of red did we bare,
Yet where came we by this road?
A call to remember pulled us apart,
Something broke between root and stone.
Blink of eye and snarl of fate,
We passed along between crumbling rocks.
Looking back while our forms disappeared.
Back into the world,
Beyond this realm sent to forget.
Where came we by this road?

Usually, it takes us, too long, to realize that the passage we’re on, isn’t leading us where we ought to be, and by the time we realized this, it’s, usually, too late , for us, to turn back…
