Devereaux Frazier and Beth Amanda are currently hosting the Tuesday Writing Prompt Challenge which was started by our star writer Christine Ray. We hope to offer all of you something that will spark your creativity and willingness to participate.
The prompts are designed to be quick challenges that can be written in 10 to 15minutes, inspire you creatively, are fun, and get everyone interacting. Please post your response to the prompt in the comments below and show your fellow posters some love and support. All members of the Go Dog Go community, including Baristas, are welcome to participate. Feel free to share this post on your own blogs and/or Facebook.
Today’s prompt:
The theme or word to use is “serenity.”

I will be posting my own poem later on today! Can’t wait to see how today’s prompt inspires you! The theme or word to use is “serenity.”

Wonderful piece Megha! I especially liked these lines–
they wake you from the
deep slumber of ignorance
the facade of the
the life you are living in

Have you ever looked
into the eyes of Buddha
a reminiscent of the
eternal calm and serenity
they wake you from the
deep slumber of ignorance
the facade of the
the life you are living in
partially open
partially closed
full of divinity
his aura radiating
from his face
slowly and surely
and calm which slowly gets
infused in
the milieu
like the ripples in the pond
symmetric and centric
the thoughts are percolating in our minds
and gets imbued in our soul
if we meditate
and blinds the dissonance
birthing in our tumultuous minds
in the chaos
of these moments
we will empower the tiny buddha
living in our core.

Hunted by shadows,
A dust devel spinning in the sun,
Here then gone,
A flicker of light,
Illuminating her beauty,
Glimpsed for a moment,
Forever trapped,
In the stasis of memory,
Revisited,
To find serenity.

You must have been at the grocery store! Interesting thoughts about how each person has a different serenity. Liked it Phillip.
