By Charles Robert Lindholm
she looks back on her life
and the lovers that she’s known
no one ever lasted long
and now she is alone
she never put her roots down deep
she loved a world of thrills
afraid to lose the romance
she believed commitment kills
and it hurts her to remember
the vows that she has spoken
all the lives that she has shattered
all the bonds that she has broken
as she looks back on her life
and the lovers that she’s had
she remembers one true love
and it makes her very sad
she wishes she could change things
and recapture what she lost
she’s had pleasure and had passion
but she pays a heavy cost
‘cause she remembers
she wants to just forget
but
she
remembers

Yes, so true, but there are those who only think of themselves and not the wake of debris and broken hearts left behind! Thanks so much for your view and wise and kind comment!!

Seems that first true love though set the stage for everything to follow. 😦

Yes, seems that the first love always has an edge compared to later ones!
