Dear one I am here,
With arms open wide to embrace the rushing dark.
Ears willing to listen and heart open to understand,
I wish to take your trembling hands.
Know that you matter to me an utter stranger,
I live to help you find your place.
As one who has stood upon that darkening plane,
‘Tis rocky and treacherous a path.
Stay one more moment and be free,
For you will always have a space with me.
I shared this poem in the hopes of adding to the many voices out there advocating for the mental health of others. Spread love and empathy for those who experience or have experienced, or will experience suicidal ideation, death of a loved one, or are in a role supporting those who are hurting. There is always hope, help, and love.
