Tuesday Writing Prompt Challenge: Tuesday, August 26, 2019

Devereaux Frazier and Beth Amanda are currently hosting the Tuesday Writing Prompt Challenge which was started by our star writer Christine Ray. We hope to offer all of you something that will spark your creativity and willingness to participate.

The prompts are designed to be quick challenges that can be written in 10 to 15minutes,  inspire you creatively, are fun, and get everyone interacting.  Please post your response to the prompt in the comments below and show your fellow posters some love and support.  All members of the Go Dog Go community, including Baristas, are welcome to participate.  Feel free to share this post on your own blogs and/or Facebook.

  1. Crucified

    Standing in my strength
    Never wavering
    I won’t back down
    It’s my truth
    Your version is distorted
    Severely tainted with lies
    Rewritten to suit your narrative
    Full of greed
    Never accepting responsibility
    Self righteous
    Indignity undefined
    Desecration of mind
    Manipulation
    Words crucified
    I would expect nothing less
    From you

  3. A little sexy for your Tuesday friends 😉…

    Crucified
    by her searing sexy eyes
    those you can see through
    baring her salacious soul
    trapped in clutches
    of her magnetism
    unable to tear away
he lay bound to her mercy
    awaiting his fate

    My choices are my own,
    Yet, I hesitate to speak.
    Knowing that if I differ
    From another in opinion
I will likely be seen as pariah.

    Public court of opinion
    Is quick to judge,
    Quick to flay,
    To crucify.

Some days I am strong enough
To stand for what is right,
    And speak clearly my mind.
Others I bleed without any sign
Of marks from the nails used
    To crucify me.

  5. Burnt By The Cross

    Oh, Children
    I’m deeply saddened
    Your innocence lost
    Burnt by the cross
    You’re not to blame
    For this baptism of shame
    By the priests dirty games
Filthy rapists by any other name
    Piously veiled by higher Cloth
    The Lord’s words, written off
    Hidden up darkened sleeves
I cannot see, I no longer believe
On a prayer and a song
    The church is doing wrong
