Devereaux Frazier and Beth Amanda are currently hosting the Tuesday Writing Prompt Challenge which was started by our star writer Christine Ray. We hope to offer all of you something that will spark your creativity and willingness to participate.
The prompts are designed to be quick challenges that can be written in 10 to 15minutes, inspire you creatively, are fun, and get everyone interacting. Please post your response to the prompt in the comments below and show your fellow posters some love and support. All members of the Go Dog Go community, including Baristas, are welcome to participate. Feel free to share this post on your own blogs and/or Facebook.
Today’s prompt:

Sitting wistfully at the
Edge of summer,
Wondering how time has flown.
Seems like yesterday
School was releasing,
And I was planning extra time
Enjoying the kids.
Tomorrow and I have to return
Life to how it used to be.
Time has flown
By so quickly,
The edge of summer
Surprised me.

Lovely poem. Like you, caught by surprise this morning when I wrote today’s date in my journal …8/20 already 🙃

Time goes too fast when they are little and then it comes too quickly as we age. The only time it moves slowly is when we ourselves are children wanting life to begin.

take it slow
stop racing
towards the first edge of summer
the days will soon grow long
have confidence
the pages are bound
never too early
seemingly late
time rides the tide
pen your own chapters
with the sun in your wagon
before the back edge arrives

end of august, the edge of summer teeters into the start of fall, i missed tuesday, almost next week now, so many prompts so little time, abject muse said “check out ‘go dog go'”, i always thought it was a book but i see it is also a cafe filled with writers and baristas, i like flash fiction and coffee, i’ll be back next tuesday with susan.
