I hear the ticking
when I’m alone with myself
my life Tick-Tocking

Try sitting in the darkness
and silence
of an early morning
before the dawn
with a ticking clock
Close your eyes
and let your mind
wander where it will
let the memories
of yesterdays
flow by
like a babbling brook
listen to your heart
and soul
reminiscing
to the beat of your heart
and the ticking
of the clock
Write down
what it whispers
to you
so you will
always
remember
those moments

Great poem! When I sit quietly all I hear is the ringing in my ears that never stops!

Ouch! No fun. Haven’t they found a way to stop that? Thanks so much for your kind comment!

Not at this point. I just have to live beyond it and let it ring.
