Peace – Megha Sood

Breaking chunks of bread

throwing at the hungry beaks

salivating tongues,

with his bent back and

fleshy hands,

fecund fingertips,

savoring the life

beaming with happiness

and satisfaction

of feeding hungry souls

his body broken down with time

eyes bleared

hands shriveled

and spine

indented with spokes of times

carving stories onto them

heart is seeping in peace

lost but found again

in the backyard of the old age home

within  the smattering cacophony

of the loyal pigeons.
