undoing voices
grains of sand cover footsteps
wishing for closure
undoing echos
rivers wash away footsteps
hush the subconscious

You reminded me of a poem I scribbled in my teens – ‘giant egos – as ephemeral as footsteps on the sands of time’, or something to that effect. Today, I thought of memories being washed away, and the special moments becoming pearls in oysters.

Your comment is delightful, Reena. I love the thought of memories being washed away, and the special moments becoming pearls in oysters. Undoings, in order to have closure, doesn’t mean all memories shouldn’t be cherished.
