I’m so thrilled and excited to share this news that my poem ” A Journey towards freedom” has been selected for the third position as the winner in the state-level poetry contest conducted by the National Alliance of New Jersey ( NAMI ) for its DARA Axelrod Mental Health Poetry Contest.
NAMI New Jersey (NAMI NJ) is a statewide non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by mental illness. Through education, support, advocacy and public awareness programs NAMI NJ fosters an understanding about mental illness, confronts stigma often associated with mental disorders, advocates for public policies that benefit those affected by mental illness, and promotes research into the causes, treatment, and recovery of mental health disorders.
The Top Ten Poets will be honored at the 2019 NAMI NJ Annual Meeting on Saturday, June 15,2019 at Pines Manor in Edison. You can see the results and read the winners here.
I would really like to thank each and every one of you who voted and supported me.
Happy blogging!!
