We all know that Amazon has become persnickety about publishing book reviews and that they have been blocking many folks from leaving reviews as well as removing many of the book reviews that you have taken the time and consideration to write.
Indie Blu(e)and Go Dog Go Café would LOVE to publish your book reviews! They may not have the same reach as publishing on Amazon or Goodreads would, but publishing your review on IB and/or GDG will introduce both your writing and some great books to a new and appreciative audience.
If you have written a review that you would like to have considered for publication, please email Indie Blu(e) at indieblucollective@gmail.com with the following:
• the review itself in a Word Document (preferred) or in the body of the email (fine)
• an image of the book (your reader images of the book are always popular)
• your name EXACTLY as you would like it to appear with the review
• a brief biography and/or links where readers can read more of your writing.
IB and GDG are happy to publish reviews that are already published on Amazon and/or Goodreads to increase their reach.
We will let you know if your review will be published and send you the links for sharing
Hi Christine – Good idea – I’ve done two debut author reviews so far this year – I include images of the front cover and the back cover blurb to allow me to, albeit briefly, focus on the feel of the book – I post ‘EDC Reviews’ on my blog – I’ll email them as indicated – I’ve a few from last year too. Just curious, is there a particular genre of books you’re interested in publishing? Or does the genre of the book not matter? On my blog, a majority of my content is book reviews so I was just wondering.

Hi Raney- Our goal is to support independent authors whose sales can really be impacted by book reviews. I think that although many of our readers write poetry, they also read and enjoy prose, fiction, and nonfiction. We are not necessarily looking for reviews of travel guides or cookbooks but if it were a really exceptional travel guide or cookbook we might consider it. . .

Okay, that makes perfect sense to me. Thank you for answering my questions.

Raney- Would you be interested in reviewing any of the Indie Blu(e) titles (mostly poetry & prose) or are you more of a fiction fan?

I like poetry and prose but read more fiction than poetry, though I recently just finished reading Shout by Laurie Halse Anderson, which is a memoir told in poetry format. Most of what I like to read though is young adult literature, fantasy, sci-fi, horror, crime and thriller/suspense. But I’m also open to reading other genres, it just depends on the book itself whether I’ll actually enjoy reading it.

I am glad to know that someone noticed. Amazons Book Reviews are becoming almost obsolete. Great idea…
