Devereaux Frazier and Beth Amanda are currently hosting the Tuesday Writing Prompt Challenge which was started by our star writer Christine Ray. We hope to offer all of you something that will spark your creativity and willingness to participate.
The prompts are designed to be quick challenges that can be written in 10 to 15minutes, inspire you creatively, are fun, and get everyone interacting. Please post your response to the prompt in the comments below and show your fellow posters some love and support. All members of the Go Dog Go community, including Baristas, are welcome to participate. Feel free to share this post on your own blogs and/or Facebook.

Love from LA and thanks for the platform
la llorona redux
children this is your mother city Porciuncula
calling and wailing when i feel your fall
i anger i ponder cry in agony
i’ve watched you grow in my neighborwombs
i’ve watched you writhe in the pain of isolation
i’ve withstood you raising your hand in anger and murder
against your siblings my streetveins flow through
your souls and while your spirits are still in the hearts
of your flesh ancestors your ache and loneliness
emblazoned on flags of blue red and black
demarking ancestral bruising
how can i avenge you my children
when i simultaneously incubate the demise
perhaps the answer lies
in my children rising up and punching with their brains
honoring themselves with their mind
and claiming your royal given right to rise and be you

What an awesome response!
“perhaps the answer lies
in my children rising up and punching with their brains
honoring themselves with their mind”
I had some similar thoughts but you have articulated this so beautifully!
