Devereaux Frazier and Beth Amanda are currently hosting the Tuesday Writing Prompt Challenge which was started by our star writer Christine Ray. We hope to offer all of you something that will spark your creativity and willingness to participate.
The prompts are designed to be quick challenges that can be written in 10 to 15minutes, inspire you creatively, are fun, and get everyone interacting. Please post your response to the prompt in the comments below and show your fellow posters some love and support. All members of the Go Dog Go community, including Baristas, are welcome to participate. Feel free to share this post on your own blogs and/or Facebook.
Today’s prompt:
The word “LIGHT” can be used in many different ways–noun, adjective, verb. What comes to mind when you hear that word? What is the LIGHT in your life? How do you LIGHT up this world?
Use LIGHT or any form of it in a poem or short piece of prose.
HAPPY WRITING!
Not of light, nor darkness
eyes closed, seen and being
eyes open, memory clinging.

no space to contain this fear without the barriers it spills over to all the sides no phosphorescent mother there to catch no father to teach the scintillant way in the dark vulnerable to clichés and warnings and the debility of all that is to come and to suffer all that has passed by in the backwards of time to stoop over rotten corpses writhing in the dark of their own making in the tallest buildings to the bottom of the last sewer there i am locked away un-oxygenated still passing through the underground to someday explode into a frozen river of life that is encrypted with the secrets that have lost the wonder on the back of one man

What is the LIGHT in your life?
How do you LIGHT up this world?
Think about it long and hard
For if you don’t, your world may be dark
Do you have the LIGHT in your life?
Can you LIGHT up this world?
Just shout yes and let it glow
For when it does, your world will grow

Thank you for your prompts! Also, I’ve been meaning to ask (I hope you don’t mind) – do you prefer Beth Amanda? I couldn’t tell with your name and Devereaux Frazier how you might want to be called when I tag you in my posts. I know some people are particular about it and I didn’t want to offend by writing Beth if you prefer Beth Amanda. Thanks for letting me know!
