Thanks for asking! To me, consciousness is basically a form of awareness in which — among other things — there is a perception of the world as divided between self and non-self. That’s how I’d start off.

Well consciousness is comprehensive awareness. This awareness can be on many levels for many topics. One benefit if considering consciousness of self is the confidence and self -assurance that comes with knowing one self well.

I loved this, I remember reading that in Japan if a porcelain or similar item breaks they pour gold into the cracks to repair it and its value is priceless in the mending of it. Your lovely poem reminded me of that custom.
