Tuesday Writing Prompt Challenge: Tuesday, September 18

Devereaux Frazier and Beth Amanda are currently hosting the Tuesday Writing Prompt Challenge which was started by our star writer Christine Ray. We hope to offer all of you something that will spark your creativity and willingness to participate.

The prompts are designed to be quick challenges that can be written in 10 to 15minutes,  inspire you creatively, are fun, and get everyone interacting.  Please post your response to the prompt in the comments below and show your fellow posters some love and support.  All members of the Go Dog Go community, including Baristas, are welcome to participate.  Feel free to share this post on your own blogs and/or Facebook.

Today’s prompt: Write a poem about the one thing you can’t live without. Within it, try to state why.

We are always looking for cool, quick writing prompts.  If you have a great idea for a future Tuesday prompt challenge, send it to Beth Amanda at midwestfantasy333@gmail.com

  1. as we lay in darkness
    your heartbeat matches mine
your shape molds to my every curve
    when sleep takes hold
    paws prance between muted calls
at sunrise I wake to your nudge
nature calls and we begin again
    I cherish each day
    with my best friend

  2. In my mind it ranks
As the eighth wonder of the world,
    Its fine, dark color
    Its rich, decadent taste
    The way it melts
    So lusciously in your mouth.
I live and breathe for chocolate.
I start and end every day with it.
From the lightness of milk chocolate
To the depths of dark chocolate,
    I love every kind,
    Except of course
    For those chocolate covered ants
    There I draw the line.
    It comforts and pleases me
    Makes everything that’s wrong
    Feel right again.
    Chocolate is my lover,
    My best friend.

  3. The hurried ones in the morning
The tired once on return in the afternoon

The unexpected ones melting my heart
    The warm snuggles at bedtime
    The tight ones
    The forced ones
    The perfunctory ones
    The heartbreaking ones
    The making up ones
    The ‘love you’ ones
My kids’ hugs define my days
    Making life seem so worthwhile.
