  1. Here’s a poem for this week done in the style of a Wrapped Refrain, which must have 4 stanzas made up 4 couplets of 8 syllables and ending with a couple of 14 syllables. The first few words at the beginning of the poem, must repeat a the beginning of the poems last nine. The last couplet maybe 12 or 14 lines, I forget. There’s a second form for Wrapped Refrain poetry that definitely has 14 line couplets, so maybe I’m confused. Nonetheless, here’s a recent poem from this week so enjoying.

  3. *Sorry the first few words (4 at least) at beginning line of a Wrapped Refrain, must be repeated at the start of the last line of the poem. Hope that makes more sense
aa, bb, cc, dd, ( all rhyming couplets with 8 syllables each line), ee (last rhyming couplet, but with 14 syllables or maybe 12). Thats one verse, then you write 3 more stanzas, and repeat the first four or so words from the first line, at the last lines beginning.

  5. Thanks so much for the opportunity…

I’m valleygirlwalking. I was a faithful wife who one day had the rug pulled out from beneath her and lost everything in one fleeting moment when I found out my husband was being unfaithful.

Divorce isn’t something anyone wants in their life and as a Christian I found that there were extra layers to contend with. It wasn’t something I wanted but it happened.

With church ethics set aside around the issue of divorce, I want to help others explore the uncomfortable reality of being in a situation that you didn’t want but have been been thrust into and how we can come out of it the other side, faith intact, if not stronger.

  6. TOOT! TOOT! That’s my horn. Here’s my site, most recent short posting, as requested:

You’ll see that I turned 77 in April, so the youngins may not like to read about the old days. But take a look; there might be something of interest (“Louie Louie”). I try for a story a month. The arthritic fingers cannot put out as much as they could three years ago. But I will intersperse my memoriesofatime with some words of wisdom, casting my pearls, hoping to grab a few more readers “just because.” Thank you for this opportunity, as I sip my cuppa….

  7. Here is a poem I wrote as a writing challenge from a good friend of mine. Using the letters of the alphabet in chronological order, with a theme.

  8. When I die plant me at the base of the wisteria tree

so when my blooms lay dormant

I can weep for what I never was

And when I bloom I am the celebration of every beautiful whisper we ever shared

Wrap my weeping Branches around you

Breathe the smell of my heart

paint your room the color of my blossoms

And Hold the sweater that still smells of my perfume

In the fall weave my branches into a basket and carry it full of what you hold dear

    and wait

for in the spring I will always bloom the color of our love
