June 19 Tuesday Writing Prompt Challenge

Writing Prompt Tuesday

Christine Ray is known for her writing prompt challenges on her blog Brave and Reckless.  She has been an incredible host of this Tuesday Writing Prompt Challenge at the Go Dog Go Cafe.  Currently, due to her increased responsibilities, Deveraux Frazier and Beth Amanda will attempt to carry on this fun challenge.

The prompts are designed to be quick challenges that can be written in 10 to 15 minutes,  inspire you creatively, are fun, and get everyone interacting.  Please post your response to the prompt in the comments below and show your fellow posters some love and support.  All members of the Go Dog Go community, including Baristas, are welcome to participate.  Feel free to share this post on your own blogs and/or Facebook.

We are always looking for cool, quick writing prompts.  If you have a great idea for a future Tuesday prompt challenge, send it to Beth at midwestfantasy333@gmail.com

Today’s prompt is to use the theme “Child of Summer” to write a short piece of poetry or prose.  Take that theme any way you wish as you write.  Happy writing!

You can leave your responses in the comments below and/or link to a piece from your blog.

  1. She chased fireflies at dusk hoping to catch a dream. In a glass jar, with holes poked in the lid, she kept them close by her bed. Whirling and lighting her night, they offered her sprinkles of princess castles and twinkles of pink tinged days where she laughed and played without worries. Fairies giggled with her as she frolicked in gardens of happiness, free and easy-going like childhood should be.The world smiled because she was smiling and no anger, violence, or hurt existed. Fireflies–her light of magic.

  4. Giggling her way through the green fields with a kite in her hand, the summer breeze swept back her curly strands to reveal her angelic face. Her eyes filled with wonder as she chased a swarm of butterflies forming a kaleidoscope of colours under the clear blue sky.

I liked today’s prompt theme so much that I ended up sharing this on my Twitter page also 🙂
