some people long for happiness,
some people long for happiness in their pain,
some people long for love,
some people long for love in their hate,
people are weird,
whats weirder?

Some people long for time which they might do with what they will,
Others use it like a gambler betting all which he has begged.
For some will always hope to have what they cannot hold,
And more than that the chance to have that which will never be.
But even though time comes and goes it never can just stay,
Long as it might to just stand still it knows it never will.

Some people long for
never rights
hearts searching
dark alleys
ignoring high hopes
in midnights of fun
giving in
instead of
standing up
lying with lies
and leaving
in the morning

Some people long for things lost in the ravages of time. Damages that can’t be repaired. Words that can’t be taken back. Pain that can’t be alleviated. Connections that have eroded due to neglect and lack of communication. Regrets! Yes, people have many. If only the stupid heart knew how to fix this harrowing list of ‘almosts’ and ‘could haves’ in life.
