  1. I was really proud of myself that I wrote for 10 days in a row this month (I have been having bad writer’s block) and then I was too sick and scattered to write on Wednesday and Thursday (chronic illness sucks!) So I’ve missed the last two days and need to get back up on the daily writing horse. My plan is to write a couple of extra pieces so that I still meet the overall goal of 30 new pieces of poetry for the month of April.

I really liked several of the pieces I wrote this week but I think my favorite is The Shape of Water, which I wrote after watching the gorgeous and surreal movie of the same name directed by Guillermo del Toro. I hope you enjoy it. https://braveandrecklessblog.com/2018/04/07/the-shape-of-water/

  2. I’m participating for the first time in the NaPoWriMo and it has been a wonderful experience so far.
To be a part of the community who is brimming with poets and encourage each other is absolutely fabulous. Since April being the month of poetry, I couldn’t stop myself to write something around the idea of poetry as my salvation.
Read my piece here and let me know your thoughts.

  3. I, also, have been struggling recently to write as much as I would like – a combination of the extreme busy-ness of continuing to rebuild my life, and somewhat less emotional agony dripping upon the page. I have used NaPoWriMo to spur more writing than usual these days, and the prompts to challenge me creatively. While I have not hit every day, I have increased my production, and am holding on to some of these prompts to use going forward.
This piece was inspired by one of the prompts, and led me to honor an amazing woman.
