NaPoWriMo/GloPoWriMo 2018 Friday

napowrimo1The Baristas at Go Dog Go Cafe want to show our support for WordPress community members participating in NaPoWriMo/GloPoWriMo 2018. Throughout the month of April, we invite writers participating in the challenge to share some of their NaPoWriMo/ GloPoWriMo writing on Fridays.

How to participate:

  • Tell us more about yourself! Are you a new blogger? An old pro? Is this your first time participating in    NaPoWriMo/ GloPoWriMo 2018? What corner of the globe do you live in? Is poetry your primary form of creative expression or are you stepping out of your comfort zone?

  • Drop a link to your best NaPoWriMo/GloPoWriMo 2018 piece of the week.

  • Visit other links below and show support for your fellow poets.

  2. My name is Kevin Morris, however most of my work appears under that of K Morris.

I grew up in Liverpool, in the United Kingdom but have lived and worked in London since late 1994.

I began writing poetry in 2012 and write most days. This poem appeared on my blog yesterday, https://newauthoronline.com/2018/04/05/a-clack-of-black-high-heeled-shoes/.

  3. I’m Valerie. I’ve been writing poetry off and on all my life. My blog has been around since 2015, but I’ve only really worked on it over the past year. I’m also writing a series of poems for a book about mid-life as I’m experiencing it. I’m hoping to self-publish this September but we’ll see.

    I’m from the Midwest USA.

This is my first GloPoWriMo, but I’ve given myself challenges to write a poem a month or more. Poetry is my main form, but I also write occasional short stories and have a science fiction series that is gathering virtual dust on my computer.

The poem I chose for this week is about my grandmother who has Alzheimer’s.

  4. Hello. I am Christine and I have lived outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for the last 28 years. I started blogging in the fall of 2016 after a long absence from writing. Since that time I have primarily been writing poetry, but also dabble in fiction and essays. This is my first time participating in NaPoWriMo, which I hope will give me a much needed kick in the creative ass after struggling with writer’s block. I would like to share Fault-y Memory, which I think has some lovely imagery.

  5. Hello from Lake Tapps, Washington. I’m Maria L. Berg and I’ve been blogging for five years. I spend most of my time writing novels and short stories, but wrote lyrics for many years, so poetry is not out of my comfort zone. This is my first NaPoWriMo. Last fall I enjoyed OctPoWriMo, The PAD Chapbook Challenge and The Most Poetry New Year challenge. I found this week’s prompts inspiring. https://experiencewriting.com/2018/04/05/e-is-for-erumpent-and-etiolate/
