DANCING IN THE SHADOWS

By Charles Robert Lindholm

I was dancing in the shadows
clearly out of sight
when somehow
she found me
hiding from
the light

I told her I was fearful
of dancing in plain sight
she laughed
and said she’d
teach me
smiling
in delight

And so we twirled and twisted
with no music
in the air
as the sun
began to sink
we didn’t even care

We slowed danced
into darkness
and as I held her tight
she whispered
what she wanted,
was to waltz on
through the night

And I was glad
to grant her wish
and glad
that mine came true

And as we shared
a morning kiss
with a dream
of new romance

we watched
the curtains dance
in the morning breeze
in the warming sun
laughing at the shadows

    • Thank you, Steve! Really high praise from you, Sir! I really appreciate your support of my works! My words really love it when you come to view them!

I tried to go back and look at your “Yellow Butterfly” via the reblog I did of it but it seems it is gone. Have you removed it? I’m still not able to access your site??? Not on the blacklist I hope! LOL!

      • I don’t know why you can not access my site, that is odd. You are not blocked and my site isn’t private. All my work is down now while I reboot. Focus is on the GDG and the greater Barista family not my writing.
