Guest Barista Varnika Jain/Turning Tides

When I thought life itself

Was ebbing away

There came a high tide

Bringing you my way

When I was determined

To not come under another’s sway

Your eyes beamed with honesty

And all my fears did allay

I was drowning

Without a life vest

Saved only at your behest.

I was wary of man’s deception

Till you passed every test.

I walk along the shoreline now

Matching steps with the waves.

I walk along the shoreline now

Holding hands with you.

I walk along the shoreline now

For I’ve found my salvation.

Varnika Jain is prone to having verbal epiphanies in the midst of all the cacophony surrounding her life.  She is a voracious reader, vociferous eater and a vehemently passionate writer. You can read more of her writing at Moonlighting Scrivener where you can find her changing the world, one word at a time.
