Christopher McGeown/Short Poems and Other Nonsense

Chris Mc Geown

I don’t know
I guess I’ve always felt
A little
Out of place,
I guess it started
When I was 5,
A family fractured
Into factions;
Love poured like wine
Spilling into a new white carpet,
Hard to ignore,
But easy to understand,
As chess is a dangerous game
When played
With people
As pieces.

Where Breath Failed

Tanya Cliff/The Quill That Shatters Glass

where breath failed
and tongues were tied
in ropes of persecution
dark words
caught on the lips
moistened by endless tears
rolled off the chin
filling ink-well pools

empty pens
in dehydrated hands
dipped to quench the thirst
of parched minds’ papers
leaving fluid trails
that dried

Misplaced ~ #poetry

Dorinda Duclos/Night Owl Poetry

Night Owl Poetry - Dorinda Duclos

I found her sitting in my chair

Dreamy eyes, without a care

Messed up hair, oh, what a sight!

She must have stayed awake all night

Computer screen filled with her words

Some of them, seemed quite absurd

Verses filled, with sky and sea

Lost, in poetic dichotomy

I look again and find her gone

It’s only me, who sits alone

In front of a screen, I am confused

I seem to have misplaced my muse
